On March 22nd, BBVA’s Innovation Center in Madrid hosted the conference “HR & Pharma: Anticipating the Future”, organized by Psicotec with the collaboration of RRHH Digital.
This meeting brought together a select group of human resources managers from the pharmaceutical industry in our country with an ambitious objective: to become aware of the changes that have taken place in recent years, and also with the desire to consider and anticipate the challenges that the sector will face from now on.
The event was opened by Mª Luisa Riobóo, General Manager of Psicotec, and Nacho Villoch, Innovation Events and Activities Manager of BBVA’s Innovation Center, after which, Juan Pedro Herrera, General Manager of Human Resources at Lilly , shared his vision of the evolution of the sector from those “altruistic founders with a dream”, to the present day, also giving a glimpse of what is to come.
From his speech, a couple of ideas remained in the minds of all the attendees: “The challenge is to identify people of integrity for positions of integrity” and “in HR we are getting stronger”.
With this deep reflection, a round table was held with the suggestive title “And now what? New human resources trends in the pharmaceutical sector”. The table, with a clear orientation to open debate, was made up of Natalia Escudero (Psicotec), Yolanda García (AbbVie), Enrique Rodríguez, Ana María Mutis (AstraZeneca), Raquel Muñoz-Robledillo (GSK) and Ana Bragado (BMS) and moderated by Ana Toro, Editor-in-Chief of Digital HR.
Among others, the following ideas were highlighted:
- The pharmaceutical industry as a benchmark for innovation.
- The importance of social networks and new technologies in the selection of people.
- The pride of belonging.
- The integration of different generations within the organization.
- The key competences and the most in-demand profiles.
- The most current talent retention actions.
- The strategic vision of human resources.
Finally, a small breakfast provided the opportunity for attendees to share experiences and concerns for the future.
Due to the success of this meeting, which hung the full capacity sign, a new edition will be organized that will take place in Barcelona. The dates of this edition will be made public soon, as well as the main conclusions collected during the morning.
