Equality Plan: countdown

Does your company need an Equality Plan? The countdown for companies with more than 50 employees has begun.

On March 7, the three-year adaptation period that the Government gave to companies with between 50 and 100 workers to have their Equality Plan prepared, deposited, registered and published ends, complying with the requirements of the royal decree-law on urgent measures to guarantee equal treatment approved on March 7, 2019. And not only companies with more than 50 workers are obligated, but also those whose applicable collective agreement provides for it and those bound by a collective agreement.

It should be noted that they are mandatory, so that those companies that have not yet done so or, at least, constituted the negotiating committee of the Equality Plan within the period set by law, could face sanctions of up to 7,500 euros in fines.

But we must not forget that companies with a workforce of between 100 and 250 workers should already have their Equality Plan implemented, since their deadlines ended on March 7, 2020 and forcompanies with between 100 and 150 workers, their deadlines ended on March 7, 2021.

From Psicotec we remind you how extremely important it is to have an Equality Plan prepared and approved, not only because of the important sanctions that can be received, but also because a company that does not have an Equality Plan implemented within the deadline, could also automatically lose any type of subsidy or aid. as well as any type of bonus or benefit derived from the application of employment programs and the impossibility of applying for this type of aid for a maximum period of 2 years.

In addition, we must consider the additional benefits that having an Equality Plan in place can bring us, such as attracting talent, a better image of the company, a better reputation, reducing possible labor conflicts and improving the company’s work environment…
