CSR and Employability in Peru

Globally, the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is becoming increasingly important in the business world. It has ceased to be a trend and has been consolidated as a philosophy within organizations that seek to contribute to the sustainable development of the country and the well-being of society. This is how we understand it at Psicotec, contributing with our experience to CSR and employability in Peru.

Through voluntary practices by companies, they seek to go beyond the simple achievement of economic gains and place emphasis on considering their impact on society and the environment. Corporate Social Responsibility involves the adoption of business practices and policies that promote respect for human rights, ethics, transparency, gender equality, environmental protection, and commitment to local communities.

In Peru specifically, CSR has experienced significant growth in recent years and Peruvian companies are integrating sustainability into their operations and business strategies. It goes beyond improving the image or reputation of companies with the aim of benefiting our environment and vulnerable populations.

Psicotec – CSR and Employability in Peru

From Psicotec Peru, we have participated in the last month of two initiatives in favor of the development of employability skills in groups of young women in vulnerable situations.

We are proud to have been part of two very special programs:

  • The social responsibility program “Mujeres Chamba”, organized by Atlas Copco.

  • The program “How to prepare for the world of work”, an initiative of the NGO Tejiendo Sonrisas.

As specialists in human resources, at Psicotec we have given workshops to develop skills in the young participants in an experiential, dynamic and participatory way.

Structure of CSR and Employability workshops in Peru

After a first approach to the concept of “employability”, we delved with the participants into the importance of self-knowledge and the identification of our professional objective in order to match what we want and the reality of the labor market. We teach how to develop a structured, direct and attractive curriculum, in which achievements and growth aspirations are highlighted.

CSR and employability, practical trainingWe rehearse interview techniques through role play, offering tools to build positive answers even to difficult questions. We immerse ourselves in virtual job search environments in a practical way to bring participants closer to the means to access job offers in an agile and dynamic way.

Our focus has been to empower these groups of young women to improve their access to and permanence in the labour market with the aim of obtaining and maintaining decent and sustainable employment in the short and long term.

The future of CSR and Employability in Peru

Despite the advances in CSR in Peru, there are significant challenges, mainly the need for greater awareness of CSR by all companies, especially SMEs.

Organizations are not only workplaces, but they are one of the main social agents and, perhaps, the one that most directly affects social change and continuous learning.

What started as an extra is no longer so. Corporate Social Responsibility is no longer just a trend, but a commitment to a more sustainable and equitable future. Companies and organizations must be engines of positive change, in our own structures and in society.
