New year and new initiative: A new joint Newsletter for Psicotec and Gestolasa. We are launching a monthly publication with which we will get to know our new colleagues, the new accounts obtained and the new projects underway to continue growing.
To kick off, what better than a face-to-face? Today we invite you to get to know Mª Luisa Riobóo and Miguel Ángel Martínez a little better.

Good morning and welcome to both. Below I will ask you 7 questions (one per minute). Why 7? Hippocrates already declared that “by his virtues, he tends to accomplish all things; it is the dispenser of life and the source of all change.” Lucky number for almost all cultures, we find it in the seven days of the week, the seven colors of the rainbow, the seven wonders of Antiquity and now also in these seven questions.

Q1: Why a joint newsletter?
- ML: We think that it is the best way to keep the people of both organizations informed and, thus, try to generate a feeling of belonging. This project is very big, powerful and exciting and we would like all our colleagues to feel that way.
- MA: Because we understand that it is a way of integrating the people of both organizations and a way for everyone to know the projects we are working on.
Q2: At the end of last year, the Alliance was announced and the presentation event was organized… What is the current situation now?
- ML: Initially we are working on taking advantage of commercial synergies, visiting customers of both companies together. The reception is very good and we are sure that this will help us to multiply the business figures.
- MA: We are small companies and therefore the resources are also small. We would have liked to do many things at the same time but our possibilities are limited. Therefore, trying to prioritize the strategy to be followed after formalizing the Alliance, we saw clearly that the first step to be taken was to try to visit the largest number of client companies of “the other company”. This is something that could bring us a greater volume of business in a more direct way. This work may take us a period of between 9 and 12 months. We must bear in mind that we are talking about trying to visit more than 300 companies.
Q3: The year has just begun… where will we be on December 31st?
- MA: One of our priority objectives is to increase our turnover. To achieve this, in addition to what was mentioned in the previous question, we have incorporated Marta Romero to boost commercial activity and help achieve this objective. At the same time, we have to work to prepare the organization and be able to take on the increase in work that we are pursuing. Therefore, the objective is that by December 31 we will have achieved this increase in business and have the organization ready to respond to it.
- ML: We want to be in organizations with greater reach and greater turnover; Surely by December 31 our results will go along those lines. We are going to achieve greater presence and impact in the market; MA and I are thinking of launching a joint service and launching it on the market. Little by little we will be working on the integration of both organizations.
Q4: And physically? Will there be single offices?
- MA: Our purpose is that “there are Single Offices”. What we do not know is when this situation will occur, but, to give a guideline, perhaps it would be reasonable to be able to achieve it before the end of the year.
- ML: As I mentioned earlier, we are currently prioritizing commercial aspects. In any case, this is a natural step that we will have to take in our integration strategy, in which we will of course have to consider personal, business and future aspects.
Q5: What are the next steps to take?
- ML: Continue with joint visits and work on market positioning, so that when a client thinks about human resources, they turn to us because they know that we can solve their problem. The other day, a client, jokingly, told me “but you are already a human resources factory!” And so it should be, they must see us capable of solving their human resources problems throughout the entire life cycle of the employee in the organization.
- MA: As I said before, all the necessary to prepare the organization to respond to the increase in activity that is going to occur.
Q6: Changing a little third… what do you value most in the people around you?
- ML: Enthusiasm and proactivity, that they are restless people, with an eagerness to contribute. In consulting, it is essential to have a concern to know and to contribute. Customer orientation is very important as well.
- MA: The first thing is that they are good people. I believe that in all areas of life being a good person contributes the most important thing. I also value commitment and involvement in what is done.
Q7: And finally, what do you think is the key to the success of the Alliance between Psicotec and Gestolasa?
- MA: For me there are 3 aspects that I consider fundamental:
1.- Evolve together from our current positions towards a more modern business model.
2.- To achieve a degree of technology typical of the times in which we find ourselves.
3.- To offer the market a comprehensive range of services for the HR area.
- ML: The professionalism and will of both teams. In addition, even with their differences, we are companies with a similar culture and with growth ambitions. We are not in a hurry, we want to move forward and do things well, with a lot of respect for all the people who make up both organizations and maintaining solid principles. We are going to become the consulting firm capable of offering HR services that cover the entire life of the employee in the organization.
